How To Play With Us
Event date: Tuesday April 3rd at 13:00 BST until Wednesday April 4th at 13:00 BST!
At the start time of the event, we will unlock our server for everyone to be able to connect. To join us, open Minecraft (we're currently planning to use the Java Edition version 1.12.2, so console & mobile versions won't work, sorry!) and go to "Multiplayer", then choose "Add Server" and input "minecraft.braininhand.co.uk" as the Server Address. Click Done, and you should now be able to join our server!
We would love it if you made an account here on our forum so that we can keep you updated on future events and to continue the discussion up until the event starts as well as after we've finished playing!
But if you don't want to sign up for this forum, then please email us at minecraft@braininhand.co.uk
The theme for this year is castles! We will have "plots" marked out throughout our world for you to build in either individually or with a group of friends. There's a thread here on the forum to sign up to a group. The rules below list what sort of things you can build, but basically we're looking for a magnificent castle, a peaceful village, and a prosperous farm to feed the villagers and nobles of your land. Of course, you have complete creative freedom over the style of how your town looks, and it doesn't have to be themed as medieval European!
The winning team of the event will get to choose which charity from a shortlist the donations to our bucket at our offices will go to.
We are also collecting donations online for an autism charity! Go to our GoFundMe page to help support Positively Autistic as we play!
Competition Rules, or: How To Win!
Each feature scores 10 points, except for the big ones, which score more. Here are some suggestions, although this is for inspiration rather than a checklist. If you build everything we list, then that's great! But you can also build things that aren't on our list if they're relevant and still score points. Remember, a more creative and interesting build will score you more points than just barely meeting the requirements! At the end of the Minecraftathon, our panel of judges will award extra points to the builds that are the most outstanding and impressive.
